Program Objective:
- To share the stories of returnee migrants and collect feedback and recommendations from participants to be submitted to Government
The event highlighted the labor migration scenario with particular focus on skill, awareness, socio-economic compulsion of migrant workers and recommendations for the utilization of the Skills, capital and knowledge acquired through foreign employment for entrepreneurship, employment and national pride. She further added that lack of access to information, justice, skill testing has increased the vulnerabilities of migrant workers especially the undocumented migrants; lack of coordination among the intergovernmental ministries, sub-ordinate entities and lack of rapid response mechanism, has put issues of migrant workers unaddressed. The patriarchal mindset and social stigma prevents migrant workers to expose their identity. The reintegration has to be re-defined and returnee women should be reintegrated in society with dignity.
