Shaping Development Oriented Migration
POURAKHI Nepal is dedicated to empowering care migrant workers, particularly women and girls, through a comprehensive project aimed at enhancing their rights and working conditions. This initiative, supported by GIZ, spans a duration of fifteen months and focuses on nationwide advocacy by promoting safe migration practices and ethical recruitment pathways for Nepalese domestic workers in countries such as India, Lebanon, and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations.
The primary objective of the project is to ensure secure migration and favorable work conditions for Nepalese care migrant workers. Key activities include conducting awareness campaigns about rights and safe migration, developing gender-sensitive informational resources, and establishing support networks that connect migrant workers with essential services. By fostering collaborations among civil society organizations, governmental institutions, and private stakeholders, POURAKHI Nepal aims to create a sustainable framework that recognizes and values care work, ultimately contributing to the well-being and empowerment of vulnerable migrant communities.
